Monday Prayers

Father God,

We set our hearts to return to You

Although at times we feel torn to pieces

You will heal us

Although at times we feel injured

You will bind up our wounds

After two days You will revive us

On the third day You will restore us

That we may live in Your presence

May we acknowledge You always Lord

May we press on to acknowledge You

As surely as the sun rises

You will appear

You will come to us like the winter rains

Like the spring rains that water the Earth.

-Hosea 6 v 1-3

Monday Prayers

Father God,

We declare our agreement with Your word.

We declare that You are good

 And Your mercies endure forever.

We declare in this moment

To all people walking in darkness

You have seen a great light.

JESUS, be seen.

We declare

To all those living in the land of deep darkness

To the darkest and most deprived of situations

A light has dawned.

JESUS, be known.

We partner with You Lord

With the words we speak.

We declare that the Lord Jesus is our light

And our salvation.

We have nothing to fear.

-Isaiah 9 v 2

Monday Prayers

Father God,

We turn away from the practice

Of honouring You with our words

But not with our lives.

We turn away from declaring “Lord, Lord”

While not doing what You say.

We honour Your words as precious and vital

Life-building material.

Show us how to incorporate Your word into our lives

And our lives into Your word.

May our lives reveal a deep and beautiful foundation

A testimony to all we meet.

That Christ is the only firm foundation upon which to build

Always has been, always will be.

All other ground is

Sinking sand.

-Luke 6 v 46- 49

Monday Prayers

Father God,

We thank You for making Yourself available, accessible, reachable.

Through Jesus Christ our Lord.

We ask You to stir our hearts to seek You.

While You may be found.

To call on You.

While You are Near.

Let the wicked forsake their ways.

And the unrighteous their thoughts.

Let them turn to You.

For You will have mercy on them.

Let them cry out to You.

For You will freely pardon.

Keep us mindful that Your ways.

Are not our ways.

Our thoughts.

Are not Your thoughts.

As the heavens are higher.

Than the Earth.

So are Your ways higher.

Than our ways.

Your thoughts so much higher.

Than our thoughts.

This is why we need You.

Without You we can do nothing.

So we implore You Father God.

Bring our ways and our thoughts.

Into alignment with Yours.

In the name of Jesus (Messiah), Amen.

Isaiah 55 v 6-9.

Monday Prayers

Father God,

We thank You for those You have called.

As Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers.

To equip Your people for works of service.

So that the body of Christ may be built up.

May we reach unity in the faith.

United in the knowledge of the Son of God.

Bring us to a place of maturity.

Where together we attain to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Let us no longer be infants.

Blown here and there by every wind of teaching and philosophy of man.

Instead, may we speak Your truth.

In love.

Growing up into Christ, our head.

From which the whole body.

Joined and held together in Him.

Would grow and be built upon love.

With each and every one of us doing our part.

In Your great work.

In the name of Jesus (Messiah), Amen.

Ephesians 4 v 11-16

Monday Prayers

Father God,

When we are laid low in the dust of life…

Preserve our lives according to Your word.

May we be accountable for our actions.

And seek You when we don’t have the answers.

Teach us Your decrees Lord.

Cause us to understand the way of Your precepts.

That we may meditate on Your wonderful deeds.

When our souls are weary with sorrow.

Strengthen us according to Your word.

Keep us from deceitful ways.

Be gracious to us .

And teach us Your law.

We will choose the way of faithfulness.

We will set our heart on Your laws.

We will hold fast to Your statutes Lord.

And not be ashamed.

We will run in the path of Your commands.

For You have set our hearts…

In the name of Jesus (Messiah), Amen.

Psalm 119 v 25- 32

Inspired by…Those Who Start Small

‘Who dares despise the day of small things…’

– Zechariah 4 v 10

There is a challenge in this to start, to begin, to do something with what we have.

Significant and widely impacting ministries or outreaches usually begin with a rough idea, limited resources, a wing and a prayer. Somebody had to be vulnerable and step out in faith. Not knowing what the response of others would be. Not knowing if the whole idea would fall flat on its face.

It can be terrifying not to know.

But that’s the thing I think God loves. I can imagine Him sitting up there on His throne, surrounded by glory, watching with glints of excitement in His eyes.

“He/She is going for it. Yes! Go for it! I am with You!” I can hear Him saying.

We would do well to remember, without faith it is impossible to please God. Not unlikely or hard- impossible.

God is pleased with our small beginnings, our day of small things. Pleased when we move past our pride and concern about what others think, because of the kingdom agenda on our hearts. When we are moved with compassion, nothing will stop us from doing all we can to get the Good News out.

So, what about…

That large worldwide prayer movement we admire? Started with 3 people meeting in their homes to pray and seek God.

That inner city outreach we are awed by? Started with one person who stopped and really noticed those living on the streets.

That worship movement where salvation, healings and miracles are breaking out? Started with a few friends meeting to bask in the presence of God, to worship and see what happened. They believed God- that He inhabits the praises of His people.

That powerful residential ministry where hundreds of broken, abused and addicted people find hope and restoration? Started with one person opening up their home to one person who desperately needed it.

‘The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. Those who have will be given more, and they will have an abundance. As for those who do not have, even what they have will be taken from them…’– Matthew 13 v 11

We have a responsibility to use what we have. To whom much is given much is required.

We must sow our seeds, the ideas and desires in our hearts; use the resources we have now.

“Thus out of small beginnings greater things have been produced by His hand that made all things of nothing, and gives being to all things that are; and, as one small candle may light a thousand, so the light here kindled hath shone unto many…”
― William Bradford
