Start Spreading the News

I think we need to shout louder about the great and awesome things God is doing in our midst.

God is always doing something good; every day, every hour, every minute and every second. If we got down to the very basics- the wonderful reality that we are breathing in and out each day is an act of sustaining goodness towards us from our Father God.

There is a hungering and thirsting for good news in this world, genuine good news. We have good news to share, but so often it is kept hidden inside the delighted heart of someone who has just had their prayers answered, or safely among a community of believers. The good news that God is alive, well and working today needs to get out where it belongs, among the people and in society at large.

When was the last time we heard or read about the manifest goodness of God in a local person’s life? It may have been a while but that does not mean it isn’t happening.

It only takes a quick search on You Tube to find a myriad of testimonies from individuals in churches around the world, sharing about the astounding goodness of God in their lives. Other countries appear to have gotten the ball rolling with this, whereas the UK is comparatively silent.

Is God not moving in the UK? YES He is!! But we are not broadcasting it as we should. It is not just ‘everywhere else’ that is experiencing the manifestation of God’s power, it’s happening right here among us.

I can guarantee that in the last year alone there are people in our cities who have been healed of cancer and long term illnesses, experienced miraculous provision or received healing from deep and enduring emotional/relational wounds by the power and love of Almighty God.

‘But let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight, declares the LORD’. Jeremiah 9 v 24

Therefore, as it is written: “Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.”- 1 Corinthians 1 v 31

How can people know unless someone tells them? We cannot be British and reserved about the things God is doing in our lives anymore, we have been given permission to get the good news out.

We must change. There is SO much going on but we need to spread it to the masses; healing, deliverance, freedom, hope, favour, opportunity, restoration and reconciliation.

Let’s be creative about spreading our good news:

Blog about it.

Put a video on You Tube.

Update Facebook /Twitter status.

Contact the local newspaper.

Contact the local radio station.

Talk about it at social gatherings.

Create a personal story leaflet/booklet.

Draw an animation about it.

Write a book about it.

Talk about it with the person next to you at the bus stop or on the bus.

The list could go on; it doesn’t have to be elaborate and loud…just effective.
